The lifetime dedication of Ms Shaposhnikova has been warmly recognised by the Jury. She has shown that devotion, clear aims and professionalism will lead to success in spite of administrative barriers and adverse financial circumstances. Ms Shaposhnikova robustly contested conservative points of view and has won. The Jury also appreciates her preservation of the important Lopukhin’s estate in Moscow from demolition and its transformation into a museum.

The Europa Nostra Awards are presented to outstanding achievements from European countries not taking part in the EU’s Creative Europe programme.
