Víctor M. Gibello Bravo

Víctor M. Gibello Bravo has a degree in Geography and History in the specialties of Prehistory and Archaeology, and Medieval History. He also has a degree in Art History and a Diploma in Contemporary Art Photography. He has completed various masters and postgraduate courses in subjects as diverse as Heritage Rehabilitation, Archeology, Photography, Cultural Management, Education, and Mindfulness.
In 2019 he was awarded the Medal of the Royal Order of Civil Merit.
Since 1994 he has directed, coordinated, and participated in more than 500 archaeological excavation, prospecting, research, and conservation projects of numerous Spanish and international archaeological settlements and historical buildings. He combined archaeological activity with cultural management and the enhancement of heritage resources. Among the projects that he participated in, special relevance has his contribution as:
•a member of the writing team of the “Alba Plata” project (recovery and enhancement of the Vía de la Plata);
•coordinator of the project “Islamic Routes in Extremadura”, an action integrated into the programme “Network of Historic Centers of Islamic Influence in the South of the Iberian Peninsula and North of Morocco”;
•coordinator of the educational program Viaja con Musas, enrolled in the framework of the Extremadura de las “Artes project. Performing Arts, Heritage, and Museums in the Rural World” carried out for the Extremadura Museum Network.
During the years 2010 and 2011, he was director of the Cultural Center of La Magdalena de Plasencia (Cáceres).
