Millennium Exhibition and Event Centre in Budapest

This is the winner of a Diploma.

During World War II over 55% of Budapest’s buildings were destroyed. The legendary Ganz factories were saved from total devastation and the buildings were declared historical monuments.

The Millennium of the foundation of Hungarian State provided the possibility and opportunity for the revitalisation and rehabilitation of this former historical industrial area into a cultural and community centre. The 3.6 hectare site now comprises five former industrial buildings, a new parking garage and a park organised around a large free water surface.
