As former president of the Hessian State Office for preservation of monuments, chairperson of the team of experts “town planning monument protection” with the federal Ministry for traffic, building and town development and an initial member as well as chairman of the German Foundation for the preservation of monuments, Professor Kiesow is the most well-known monument conservationist in Germany and has been involved in the establishment of Germany’s largest citizen movement for monument protection.
